R1 Forks

Really thought the R1 standard fork springs were way too soft, so have gone for a set of Hagon progressives. What a c**t to get the springs out. Had to make a spring compressor and the tool to wedge the spring in place. Still couldn't do it on my own - had to ask the wife to put the spring holding tool in place - the shame. She agreed if a - I agreed in advance not to shout at her b - She wouldn't get her hands dirty. mission accomplished without a or b happening. Result, now just awaiting delivery of springs.

No my forks had been extensively modified with race tech springs / spacers and been revalved. They felt very good on the bike. The standard R1 for ks felt very soggy by comparison with preload fully wound in - though they could have been in any state as they were secondhand.
By the way mincehead thanks for the info went on the sites fed in weight and bike weight and the spring calculator came back with a heavier spring recommended
