Hi, a brief introduction.
I currently ride a street triple and have fancied a twin for ages. I have always liked yamaha's (had 2 fazers) and would love this as a commuter. Exactly how uncomfortable are they and what are running costs e.g. mpg like?
thanks
sam

Hello and welcome Sam. TRX`s are pretty comfy (for the rider) and you`ll see around 50 mpg ridden sensibly on a stock motor and well set up carbs.
SEARCH is your friend here, you`ll find all the answers you want.

First off, welcome aboard.
You'll find a trx comfy enough whether you are 5ft 6 or 6ft 6. Riding position is not extreme. I would suggest lowering the gearing for any town traffic commuting. Seat can be a bit hard on longer trips but i cure this by wearing padded cycling shorts! Not that great for a pillion.
But the TRXs minor shortfalls are made up by its character, grunt and handling.

I reckon the grin factor and 'bang for bucks' of a TRX far outwiegh any comfort or economy reservations you may have.
