Hi all, newbie memeber here from Bangor N Ireland.
Am getting my TRX back on the road after being stuck in the back of the garage for a few years and need some advice. First of all the battery is knackered and where should I get a new one from and should I get a Yuasa or a pattern type?
Secondly I have YZF600RR front forks and Bluespots fitted but as usual the right hand fork seal is leaking. Should I put the original TRX forks back on again or go for a rebuild of the 600RR forks?
Should I change the coolant? Engine oil of course will be replaced once I get her fired up again and can warm the old stuff up.

Cheap is false economy IMHO - buy a Yuasa

The YZF forks look better and are better quality. If it was me, I'd put new seals and new oil into the YZF forks

last aftermarket battery I purchased was 2/3rds the price of a yusaka and lasted me over 4 yrs just don't go for the half price alternitive

Hi Rocketron, Haslam fan? Welcome to the forum.
As others have said, for the costs involved yes, replace ALL fluids. Brake fluids especially as they are hygroscopic( absorb moisture from the atmosphere) they loose their efficiency.
As for batteries? Well I bought an MF gel type, sealed for life battery two years ago, cost me fifty quid but fully charged it got me and the TRX the near 400 miles home as my alternator had fried while I was travelling down to the Bulldog Bash. I can`t recommend them enough.

Not a Haslam fan as such but saw him race many times and was ace on the Norton!
Will certainly rebuild the Thundercat forks and may swop the stanchions over as it is the right seal that goes due to the bike always being parked on the sidestand. Good advice on the battery too and will check prices locally here before ordering online. The alternator cover has got a fair bit of corrosion on it so will either repaint or try and source a better condition one. The front is very exposed to all the crap the front tyre throws up. It has been 4 years since the bike was last fired up so fingers crossed there are no sticking valves or other issues to sort....
