TRX850 Running Rough

Hello people

I have just finished rebuilding my TRX850 streetfighter project and although I say it myself, it is absolutley awesome However, it is running rough I have just had the carbs balanced and whislt it does not cut out now when you roll off the throttle and ticks over it is very lumpy and sooting up the outlet on the new cans (JC Exhausts - Moto GP stlye).

I have read on numerous sites about the emulsion tubes wearing oval so I have order some Fractory Pro-American replacement tubes in the hope that this will sort it

My questions are, has anyone had this sort of problem with the bike running lumpy and rich and have they replaced the emulsion tubes? If they have, did the replacement tubes cure the problem?

I have just been to a local garage and they have confirmed my suspicions The overall answer I now believe is new emulsion tubes coupled with a Stage 1 Dynojet Kit. This runs true with other information I read on the web. All this (including installation) should come to a little over £200. Not money a really wanted to spend, but that's life

Can't you do them yourself, use search as they are a known weak point and many have done it! Its not that hard at all and will teach you a bit about maintenance of your TRX.

£200 - kin 'ell that's a lot. Not sure how much a DJ kit is these days (£70?) or tubes (£30) but a deceent mech should be able to do it in an hour.

I bet that there are a load of you tube vids showing how it's done

Tubes £50, Kit £88 , £65 labour. A bit steep I know , but at least I know it will be sorted and running properly when its done.

I have thought about doin them myself, but I only have a small shed to work in with very little room or light. If I lose a spring, washer, or gromit that's the job gone to pot.

I am quite confident doing most things on bikes (this is my 3rd rebuild project) but things like carbs I generally leave to the pro's. Plus they will overhaul the carbs whilst they have got the bike

Two bloody weeks to wait for a dyno kit Non in the country so bike laid up 'til then.

Try PDQ - they should be able to put you a kit together
