WTF is the go with that steering Dampener??????????????????? I just dont get why so many builders want their bike to look like a Harley

Ahhh but to look like Harley`s best, an XR750 is a compliment in it`s own right. How about a Ducati treated to the same?:

as hard as I can think, I just can not recall one thing a XR750 Harley is good at mechanically.

Agreed but it WAS the best thing they made for at least three decades!

XR's are the only cool Harleys, a mate of mine calls them handbags cos theyre just an accessory

Yes, they do look cool.... I would love to give a sporty the tracker treatment, instead of just buying an XR1200 (assuming I had the money, AND the desire). My old man has an '09 sporty 1200 and I actually really enjoy riding it. Obviously, the corner clearance is woeful - but the motor is very nice on the street, and it's not as lardy as others in the HD range. Without going nuts on things like cutting the frame to mod the rake etc, I reckon a tasteful conversion with rearsets/suspension and cafe/tracker bodywork, you have a a decent platform for a fun bike. Or perhaps chuck an xl1200 motor into a featherbed frame - a la norley - and you have another twin that's fun to take out when you're giving your Rexy a breather. Obviously, the bike in the link provided needs some work on corner clearance, but hopefully you get my drift....

Anyway, back to our beloved TRX, I was thinking about tracker conversions the other night, and the thing that has me stuck is finding the right kind of tank. Tracker seats aren't hard to find, and the one in this post looks the part (but in my eyes looks like it should sit further back over the rear wheel), but somehow the sporty tank just looks like it's been stuck on. I'd go for a single light as well instead of the twin 'fighter style. I reckon if someone could make a custom tracker tank that somehow worked with the TRX frame to finish it off it would look ace. Love the spokes, and btw don't mean to come across like I'm hating on this bike so big ups to the guy who owns this bike for going out on a limb and making it happen

I'll put my flame suit on now and get back to my whisky...
