TRX was for sale (Ireland) ... now broken :-(

Howiye,
Sell time with the trx, realising i have 5 bikes, dont do a big daily commute anymore and i have a few smaller fun bikes i can act the loon on i'll be letting the trx go.
rake of info : first off it C/w with restriction cert, so its easily insured if you're 21 even on a provisinal lisence with no experience! Overall condition is good, very clean- although has the usual marks on a bike of its age. year is 1999. pmo. tax till April, 33k miles. In daily use. Had plenty of money spent on it to make it work 100%. extra's: Braided goodrige lines front and rear, As you'd expect the baffles were removed at some stage by a previous owner so i fitted a stage1 dynojet kit, k&n filter and balanced the carbs to compensate. New emulsion tubes. new plugs. Valve's also done and a new fuel tap was fitted, all done around 1500 miles ago by Redline (bikeshop). carbon hugger. New rear tyre, new brake pads. c/w the bellypan and double bubble screen seen in some of the pictures, ignore the english reg. I change the oil every 1000miles (doing it again today) and a filter went in approx 2000 miles ago.
The front tyre is on the way out but depending on the time/if i get a reply this will probably have been replaced.
Its cost me 2650 so selling around 2150 euro ONO- coz it actually works properly, doesnt need a rake of money spent on it, also rare as hen's teeth in ireland.
I'll swap for something either, Aprilia falco, zx7r, tl1000s, some big missile, or an alfa romeo diesel :).
Bike location is Ireland, wicklow/dublin area.

broken left wrist, broken right arm right hand right ankle, severed artery in right arm pulled muscles bruised swollen everything. coulda been worse!

I'll be ok tho, got a lovely plate in my arm now n all!

Yuuuuup! the forks are bent at different angles, wheel cracked discs ruined, bars, all plastics somehow, bent exhaust, ruined radiator, headlight. find it hard to believe the frame escaped unscathed too.

Ive everything to rebuild it except a front end and a headlight so if im gonna its not the end of the world sure :) might sell them both for parts. not sure..

here's the damage for the craic anyhow!

 hate seeing smashed TRX's

Amazed you're still typing with those injuries!! Hope you heal soon ... at least it's cold now and not really bike weather!!

If you decide to sell the parts you'll have plenty on here after things ... otherwise advertise asking for the bits you need and I'm sure someone will find them in the shed!!! I'll change the title of this thread and and move it to a different area as it's not for sale now.

Was it the bus's fault? There's a thread here somewhere about UK insurance and whether it's worth claiming or even informing the insurers (not sure how much of it applies to Ireland tho).

I know it looks awful doesnt it :(
Cheers was gonna enquire bout that! happened 3 weeks ago so im over the 1 finger typing at last :L
Halfway round a blind bend my vision was filled with the back of a quarry lorry stopped about 2m from the corner completly blocking my side of the road, the other side of the road was filled with a big white bus! They had stopped to ease past one another. 2m from a blind bend. really very silly.
Basically with no time to brake i had to do the quickest swerve test known to man and aim for the gap that might be between the 2 monstrocities. angle was all wrong so i was never gonna straighten up the bike in time. hit the front right corner of the bus and slid between them. ouch, but luckily i (sorta) made the gap!
Technically from an insurers point of view its my fault i wasnt able to stop. the rep who came out was very nice n all that and agreed i wasnt to blame, that basically i must be a good rider to have escaped alive. wrong place wrong time is what she said lol.

Hey Geoff,
Hope you get better asap.
But look on the bright side ... you are now the owner of a new 'short-wheelbase' TRX with 'go-faster' brakes. A bit of T-Cut and some duct tape (see Jak's mechanical tips) and she'll be right :D

Glad to see you are keeping positive, it's the way to go!!

Well, got the bike back from the holding yard today. and gods its much worse in the flesh!! the list of non damaged bits is small..engine carbs airbox swingarm rear wheel shock electrics clocks have escaped with just scratches. frame twisted in 5 places, even the damn downpipes are at new and interesting angles!
whenever i decide what to do with it i'l throw up a article in the build section or perhaps throw it and all the spares up for sale. we'll see sure
