Insuring a bike

been informed that once i sell my current bike i am NOT having another one :evil: and have to get a car. ffs :roll:

if i sell it what is the very least i can buy and insure (legally) to keep my no claims?
can i buy a log book and frame or do i need a taxed / MoT bike?

I was told that my no claims was good for 2, maybe 3 years WITHOUT having to insure anything ... I made him say it three times before I believed him :lol: :lol:
