any idea what it is at the back wheel ?? (and not the drivel that Yamaha probably quoted to testers back in the day!!!) i notice some people on here quote huge BHP figures, im wondering if they are measured at the crank or at the rear wheel ??? Ta WiCk

79 at the rear seems to be a fairly average number but a good strong engine should give around 82 hp have had both my rex's on the and both produced the same reading "82 hp".

Cheers, Mick.

I've got a dyno chart from my stock motor which read 76bhp. But as you know, dyno figures vary a lot from dyno to dyno. Mine's putting out 90bhp just with some FCR41 carbs and an overbored 2-2 renegade system. All measured at the back wheel.

Mine measured 79.7 BHp at the crank, which of course is a calculated figure, based on whatever the dyno saw at the rear wheel. My bike is standard save for a K&N filter and Renegade cans.

some impressive figgers there folks, but Burty's sounds about the most realistic to me, s'funny how some dyno's differ vastly from udders. me mates 96 TDM makes 67 at the rear wheel.......... with dynojet kit, k&n filthy, and the stock cans but with the collector box removed from the equation, not too impressive imo. gonna have my 2000 TDM dyno'd in a few weeks time and see what she's punting oot.........or not as the case may be

My guess is 75ish completely stock. With flatslides, standard airbox and cheapish slip-ons, I got 85 RWBHP on one Dyno , after the head had been seriously flowed, and with pod-filter, 50 mm stacks and full race system from MAb, I got 89,5 on another Dyno. Obviously the first one was way too optimistic, and they claimed stock TRXs would give 77-79 RWBHP, hence my guess... Dyno figures should in my opinion be used as proof of improvements (when carried out on the same Dyno with the about the same temperatures, humidity and so on...) 83 on the crank was claimed by Yamaha (and how often are the claimed figures not true) and loosing 7 BHP in the drive-train sounds about right...

I think they are real, not many Japanese girls have had their udders stuffed (though I wouldn't mind helping this girl out).

Back on subject. After mounting my FCRs, I did strap it on (hard to get my mind out of the gutter here...) a dyno. Just shy of 90 from memory, that's with the OVER box and SP Tadao full system which has quite large header pipes and straight through silencers. The only other TRX he had in his data was around 75 (again from memory).

Last year we tried out the dyno and Sharky got up to 89.5hp at the wheel and I think it was 79lb torque... Dynojet kit, 16/42 sprockets, custom pipes... well tuned ;-) ......... moh...

anyway back on topic, i'd love ta get me tolly washer in atween them firm tats mon !!!!

tanks fer the replies, flatsoides seem to really give a good BHP boost, alas too expensive fer me though, can't wait to see what my TDM puts out, Predator 2-1 system sounds good (which is crap in terms of build kwality) but i'd prefer a 2-2 system, k&n air filter in stock air box.
