Just bought a new Metzler Sportec M5 front in 120/70 zr 17...for the yzf front..it replaces my older M3 metzler...
Anyone useing this hoop out there..?
Cost price was 170 dollars , quite competitive in the costings.
Apparently it is a single compound.

didn't need a rear also ???

thats the weekends around the south east here mince,trying to keep up with Blacktrix...and ahead of Fung...will see how the new hoop performs this week end.....only a few thousand on the rear cobb.

I know out at Blacksoil he has some Shinko's for $280 fitted f&R not so long ago and doin a little reading about them they seem pretty good value for money. I know Ekoja may be interested in these.

They have a comparision on times on 2 different curcuits in this link also.
I"m still shopping round and researching these Bridgestones BT 003RS myself for an option but waiting for feedback at present .

Got a set of Metzeler Roadtec Z8s on the 'Rex.
Have had M1s and M3s before and these Zs are not too far off the mark.

I had Metzler sportec's fitted when i first had the bike - nice tyres no complaints

Then tried Bridgestone 020 /021's on recommendation - hated them - scared the crap out of me, got shot of them with loads of wear left - no confidence in them

Then went for dunlop roadsmarts - good all round tyres good grip and wore really well - but lacked feedback I never felt them really gripping the road, though they never slid or misbehaved and I rode right to the edge of the back tyre

Now on Michelin Road pilot 111's, which again feel like good tyres though have only just scrubbed them in

020's prob a good tyre if you own a bus on two wheels if you read any reviews,there not really a sports tyre
but thats the trade off when you see 9,500miles plus on some of the reports for wear from a XJ1200 and alike.

I may have mentioned them in relation to an x owner who had them fitted, and was quite happy with them.
