My mother in law was under instruction to tell me straight away to buy a road bike and get out enjoying life with my mates again after 2 years of caring.
I bought an 08 600 Hornet ABS from a mates wife as she had only done 1341 miles in 3 years and did a few rideouts last autumn before laying it up for the winter with only 2900 miles in total.
Well a few weeks ago whilst helping my son do a job at a mates house (Gary) the said mate was tinkering with his TRX affixing some union flag stickers to his resprayed fairing (instead of TRX decals after he got knocked off in the paddock at a cadwell park trackday last year).
Then he fired her up!!!
Instead of the pussycat i was expecting ..... i heard a gnarly 'don't f@ck with me' Ducati like sound (but without the jangling clutch noise) maybe due to some tasty race cans he has fitted.

I must have missed these bikes during my 28 year gap because i had never seen one until first one then another then a third mate all bought one over a few months and so i was hooked. I decided to sell the hornet and bought a TDM850 from Chris (one of the TRX owners) and a TRX from andypos from this forum.
A car driver pulled out on me about 3 weeks ago and probably wrote the TDM off (i escaped with just a few aches) but he and his insurance company have admitted liabilty so that will go through uncontested so because i hadn't yet sold the hornet i've re-insured it and in fact am off out to Hartside later on it.
My TRX has only been to the petrol station and back until i managed 20 minutes on it last weekend in preperation for my 1st ever attempt at a trackday
I was booked into the novice group at Mallory Park with focused events on Good Friday and set off at 5am for the 2 hours drive to Leicestershire with the bike trailered behind.
I had a great day and really enjoyed myself so here are a few pictures from the day taken mostly by my son (he's not very good at it
I've previously owned RSV, RSVR, Tuono, Blackbird, SV1000 etc but i was well impressed with the TRX's manners and handling, so much so that i ended up doing most of my overtakes on the outside around Gerrards
