had the bike a few weeks now love it but not so much in town it is too snatchy in fourth no chance in top it feels so light after riding my z 1300 for the last fifteen years my prob is that there is a misfire at tick over as though its rich and firing the mix in the can every few revs the cans are loud after market dont know the make haynes shows pilot air screws but im damned if i can find any any help much appreciated

They are up inside the recess of the front face of the float bowls, you need a flxi drive screwdriver or one of the carb adjusting tools (right angled) to really get to them properly.
What does the bike carburate like through the rev range?
Stock TRX gearing is a tad high, try a 42 or 43 tooth rear sprocket, it`ll transform the bike, especially through town.

sorry mate, no real comments on the misfire other than check your plugs and HT leads first
But on the snatchiness round town, the TRX is very sensitive to slack in the throttle cables and final drive chain which make it snatchy at slow speed.
Take some time setting these up properly.
Also may consider a gearing lowering like has been said. May need a longer chain going up sprocket teeth at the back so could go for one less tooth at the front instead.

after 15 years on a 4 cylinder any twin will feel snatchy....use 3rd rather than 4th.

Fourth gear in town - the TRiXie is no four-cylinder ... (thanks to god!)

As said here: Try third or even second gear - revs shouldn't be under 2.500 or 3.000 U/min for smooth riding.
(Gearing for town and twisties suitable for me is 17/42)
And maybe your twist of the wrist needs to get used to act more sensitive than on a four-ender.

Mixture: TRXes tend to be / get rich (other than I do ... )
Try a search for emulsion tubes and needles - they wear out from time to time.

When renewing emulsion tubes and needles: Fitting a Dynojet-Kit (here also search is your friend) is worth trying!
