Whent to the Classic Mechanics show last week and thouroughly enjoyed it. Its the only chance really to see bikes that I remember from my youth. The stand outs being a Kawasaki Z1000 Mk2, a Dunstall GT750 and a perfect MK1 Laverda Montjuic. There were loads of other stuff there, some absolute classics...lovely. But what I was really shocked to see during my rooting was a pair of Guilliari (spelling) sports seats for the early 4LO/4L1 LC's. One was obviously quite well used but had no rips or marks...and the other had a very noticeable rip at the back. The first seat was, £450 and the ripped one was £250 lordy, lordy. Whilst I know we will pay a premium for those hard to get must have's but I thought those prices where a tad excessive. Having said all that there is a rear seat cover on Ebay at the moment with a bit missing on it which I am considering. But I am not sure if it is to expensive or not as I am not sure what they cost, or where to get a new on from...unless any of you worldly wise gurus do.

Giuliari eh? Yes they were everywhere in the 70`s relatively cheap too. I have one of the `humped` types on my 1978 Yamaha SR500 (now 543cc).
No idea if they`re still being made, have you Gurgled the name?

I absolutely lusted after the Laverda Montjuic when I was around fifteen in perhaps 1978?

I thought the heads and barrels were just so handsome. Still do I guess.

Most people will be aware that the Laverda Montjuic was named after the motorcycle race around the beautiful Montjuic Park in Barcelona,Spain. Few, I guess, will know that Montjuic means quite literally "Mount of the Jews". I only found this out when I visited last Summer. Montjuic was an ancient Jewish burial ground.

I'll probably never look at the little Laverda in quite same light again

Same here, always loved the Lav Montjuic.
My dad had a SF3 750 that I was gonna inherit but the damn clutch was the killer. You couldn't pull it in.
