Torque arm bolt fell out or broke ?

Top right corner have you doctored this shot

Correct Big Al, I guess I should be happy this happened as I was rolling to stop at a set of lights rather than belting through the mountains. Put a finish to the days planned festivities.

Cobba, top right corner is the underside of my Staintunes.

Looks like your adjusters have been replaced with bigger bolts at some stage.

Your AXLE is in the wrong way as well..ie, the axle nut should be on the other side.

Ok so it's the reflection of the ground that made me think everything was upside down

I agree the Factory way is from right to left but why?? and what difference does it make?

It makes a BIG difference if the scribed adjuster plate isn`t swapped about too, simply because the axle `head` butts up against the right one with it`s milled flat edges and locks it.

And proud of it.. Even if we where those rubber things on our feet instead of our crutch

the principal is the same for pushbikes.
We thread in the axle from the right side, with the quick release or nut on the left.
If it comes loose, the rotation of the wheel on axle minimises the risk of it coming undone.
Plus, as stated the rear axle has to be hard against the adjuster plates raised section to keep it all lined up and solid.

So why are the left side nuts on some van wheelnuts and left side axle spindles on some cars left hand thread then fung? I'd already thought of that one.................

Well I'll beef hooked, I've had the bike for five years, in and out of shops for tyres, no one has ever noticed that before. Even scarpered away to consult the Big Book of TRX to make sure that it was in the wrong way around.
So, when I've seen guys checking out the rear of my bike at the rest stops and laughing thats what they where finding amusing??
Well once I get the axle right way round I'll be able to go faster 'cause the axle won't be turning in the wrong direction...I'll show 'em!
