dismantle stock cans?

Has anyone on here dismantled a standard set of cans and removed part of the baffle with any success?
the TRX made me do it officer!

There`s a thread here on the forum,detailing how to do it Banger,search facility should turn it up for you.It`s probably in mods and upgrades. :wink:

I`ve just found that thread for you,it`s `bafflectomy` and it`s in mods and upgrades.
Yes,good racing,good weather and good company.Knackered now after only about three hours or so sleep and I`ve got to wait until about 7:30 this morning before I can hit the sack again. :(

there is a couple of good road racing shows on bbc iplayer if you want some bikes to watch! tandragee 100 and the north west200

Thats unfortunate!I've just checked out bafflectomy, I think I'll give that a go tommorrow while I'm in the garage replacing me throttle cables!

Tell me Banger,your profile picture,is that a very `modified` early piston port yamaha(YDS7/YR5)you and the wee-un are leaning against?
Real bitsa,looks like a T140 front end,Harley sportster tail/seat unit or copy and a weird almost sportster again tank. :?

No M.H that is a 1972 Suzuki T500 2stroke twin Heavily Modded by a previous owner then done a bit more subtley by moi back in 1990, the youth on the bike is me with my oldest Daughter when she was a baby, She is now 18 and I havent got that much hair anymore! The tank is notts custom cycle mustang as is the chrome rear fat bob "fender.seat is one of those universal banana jobs. the front end is suzuki GT500

Ahaaaaaaaa,now you mention it I should have recognised the silencer,definately the T500 give away. #-o So,you`re happy with your new exhaust note then?

Apart from the problems associated with accelerating the wear on the emulsion tubes and needles from doing it,it`s a matter of high gear,low throttle openings round town or where the porcine bandits may be hanging out. :wink:
I`ve got stock headers with stubby carbon cans(300 mm long)on mine,fine burbling along but let the motor spin-up and it`ll wake the dead!
