YZF 750 Front end fitting question

Just about to fit a YZF750 front end onto the TRX.
I don't have the YZF front end built up to offer on the headstock, so my question is to those who have done the mod, is there anything I need to do modification wise to the frame/headstock before I send the frame of for powder coatiing, I realise the steering lock wont line up but with i have any other issues ?

Nope you can send it off for powdercoating,the mod is the stock TRX stem pressed into the YZF bottom yoke,the frame remains unchanged.

Well, I had to cut an edge from the steering lock stopper on the frame!
Hard to explain... do you have a pic of the frame from the front?

Now I can use the steering lock, but only with the front wheel pointed straight forward.

Based on my frame anyway...you don't HAVE to do anything to the steering lock stopper, BUT the steering lock won't work unless you mod it as Tarwetijger says. Just a question of do you want to retain the steering lock and/or do you want to have the ability to swap back to stock to sell the bike and the YZF front end separately?

As far as I know the lock touched the bracket of the lock on the frame, if you turn the steering bars.
So regardless of using the lock or not, I had to remove a small edge.

Here is a picture of the standard front......do you or any one else have a picture of a modified headstock even better what need to be done to make the YZF steering lock fit/work

Marry the parts up together and you`ll soon suss it out,obviously you only need the yokes assembled through the headstock,plus the ignition switch fitted to see what`s required to be done.
Gold frame eh,I thought of having mine powder coated gold in the future,we`ll see.

do you find the taper bearings any better than the ball type ?

The frame is gold at the moment but I am changing to Black. The YZF front end is not yet assembled as I need to press out the steering stem from the TRX bottom clamp which I won’t be able to do until I am back at work next week, so I needed to know about any alterations before I send the frame to be powder coated this weekend.

Steve.... In answer to your question I don’t know about the taper bearing difference I didnt ride the bike much before I stripped it
