Whats your set-up

Post by AHTHUD » Tue Sep 08, 2009 8:38 am

How about a thread detailing your set-up for standard forks and how they feel to you. I know if you search there is loads of info on here. I just thought it might be interesting to list all the settings on one thread.

Heres mine, 0.90 Maxton springs, 15w oil with 130 air gap, 25mm showing above clip-on.
I weigh about 13 stone fully kitted. this set-up has reduced dive on the brakes, is a bit harsher over the bumps and probably is a bit weak on rebound.
It's all good fun till the pain sets in!

 Standard import forks with European spec springs, and 5w oil, 25mm through top yoke with spacers and bars at the top of the forks. Rear is a standard import spring (I'm pretty sure about that) with yzf dogbones, Oh and a yzf wheel.

the best way to set up the trx?

throw the standard stuff in the bin

seriously though, it very much depends what you want the bike to do. With a fettle (new fork oil, maybe new springs and a rear unit overhaul) the standard stuff is fairly capable as long as you don't want to push too hard.

I reckon I'll keep the back suspension standard; but I'm thinking of converting the forks with Racetek emulators.
