OK. So those wires are to stop you starting TRX in gear with the clutch out...but you can disconnect them and the bike will still start...you just have to remeber not to start it in gear!!

I'll go and prove my assumption by trying to start in gear, then disconnecting wires and making sure it starts with them flapping in the breeze....out of gear of course!!

hmmm
got the front brakes from a '99 R1 so also sourced a clutch perch from a '99 with the intention of fitting some shorter (ebay) levers but nobody makes anything for the early R1. Do the levers from the later models 2002 onwards, fit the early perches or have i ballsed up?

being a bit short on cash i was looking at some of the cheap levers from HK but they only list 2002 onwards for the R1. Was wondering if they would fit. Cant really justify big money.
