I would also have assumed a slight loss at the top, especially with something restricting the flow (the splitter) while on full opening. But you see what i mean in the pics, with the adapters? Not much, but inlet tract lengths can be very sensitive as you know.

Its weird. Many people i talk to who "know" about this stuff, swear black and blue you want to have turbulent air to get a good mix.. I just smile and nod.
Ive been saying this for ages, you want the STRAIGHTEST air possible, to the point of sacrificing some CFM to obtain it. Its well worth it, and this chart proves it. Interesting chart there KW.
