FCR install - a few questions

I take it you`ve checked the slides roller bearings for being `free`? The slides nomal movement may be being compromised somewhat.

Problem sorted (almost)... was me over tightening the cables a bit! Just need to tweek the settings a little further and get some adapters so I can fit the standard airbox as the K&N are way too loud!

Result is amazing though, worth the hassle and £££!

TOO LOUD? No motorcycle is ever too loud, it simply doesn`t exist. All my bikes give anyone fair warning that I`m there, wouldn`t have it any other way.
The ears get used to bleeding after a while.

Got to disagree with you mincehead - there can be too loud and thats when either the noise pisses the person behind you off when your putting in big miles on a trip or when the government listen to too may people who are pissed off when too loud bikes pass their houses every weekend! then you'll have no choice, much the same way Germany and Italy are now! Some people ignore the law and end up getting harassed by the law - is it really worth it? Some noise is good to listen to - your, mine and Joe Public all have different ideas of what's reasonable! Some of the best sounding race bikes are nicely subdued but still sound stunning - in my opinion!

I personally like a loud bike, but do agree that you have to consider others. Early morning, late nights I don't rag my bike. On a long run with a lot of traffic I kick it up a good few gears and keep throttle at low opening. But on a deserted country lane - let her rip!

Funnily enough one kid thanked me - he said it was my bike going down the road that has got him up and out of bed for years - go figure.

Also because the TRX is more of a throaty roar, I think it is less agressive that a four on an open pipe.

All my opinions - but with a little consideration for others, I don't get objections. Also mince has a point morons in tin boxes who don't look, hear you comming

I`ve never had open drag pipes like those found on many of the cruisers and Harley Tractorsons but I do like the least baffling I can get away with.
Actually I agree about high revving four pot sewing machines, they can literally `howl`, very annoying even to me! Those nasty little feet forward plastic buckets with expansion chambers on also do my head in, the days of sports mopeds are long gone but an old Fizzy or AP50 with a spanny on actually sounded much better I think.
As for the noise regulations pish, it`s simply that in the UK. We have a plethora of ferkwits with dustbin diameter tailpipes on their `mostly` Honda Civics and the like polluting the towns and cities with their drone anyway.
Bikers make little noise in comparison, there`s less of us for one.

In agreement about the overly noisy 4 cyl - and there's more of them than twins. Open 'spannied mopeds in Spain and Itay at 3am are just offensive.

The noise regs in UK are pretty liberal Mince - a lot more stringent in mainland Europe and that IMO is what'll happen here unless WE police it.....................

I've a pair of Microns with db killers on the TRX and Akras with db killers on the TDM - both loud enough to please and let cagers know you're around......................

Agree with all that was said here on noise.... me riding as is in central London every day is simply asking for trouble.

Move to Scotland, cheaper housing, clear roads, nowhere near the amount of cameras and you can use those rorty pipes.
For seven months of the year anyway!
