After i bought my TRX last year in august with Superbike handlebars and my back causes pain after a few 100km, it was clear, that i have to change something.



My great luck was, that the former owner of my TRX has kept every original part, so that i had nothing to buy, except a new clutch cable.

After a few hours of tinkering, the result looks not too bad:



As i've owned a R6 before, i was used to good brakes, so i've installed the complete R6 front brakes including the main brake pump and the R6 clutch levers.



After this, i bought a Thundercat front wheel and a YZF rear wheel and fixed it into my TRX. Also because of the poor original sound, i've bought two used Laser Race cans. Now the sound is way better !! I also intended to use a YZF swingarm but i've kept the TRX swingarm, for easier changing the rims(sommer/winter use). For wearing a prosthesis on the right side, the danger of tilting to the right, i've mounted some carbon covers and crash pads.





And because the fairing was so "empty", i've created a new sticker for my TRX, inspired by the belly paintings of WW2 bombers and fighters:



After this, somebody told me it would be looking better, if the "stars" of the brake caliper would be gold, so i've sold the blue ones and bought golden ones.




Because of using very soft tires, the durability was not so good, the original rear shock could not be adjusted as i want to, so i've bought an 06 R6 rear shock, an adapter from kayla(thanks for fast delivery) and installed them into my TRX(no photo available yet).

And, because the street comes so near to my boots, i hightened the back with a 35mm Kit from Metisse.
After this, the TÃœV eamination was necessary and i've got every thing approved, except the Laser Race cans.

The next changes will be:
- higher footrests
- flatside carbs

So i hope, i haven't bored you too much with my TRX story and now let me hear your opinions about my TRX(and please excuse my poor english).

Yes, in this version, it's my creation.
I've seen it in an other version, and i've modified it to my ideas.

With 35mm jack-up kit AND a bigger diameter rear tyre, is the handling still ok?

Yes, handling is very fine, a lot better as with the Superbike handlebars.
In addition, in comparison with the TRX of a friend, the fork seems also 1cm pushed through. So the TRX is as good to handle as my R6. The Grip of the ContiRaceAttack is very high, so that the footrests often are touching the street.

as far as I know, Nose art was mainly from Allied bombers, there were some very good artists on allied airfields, as I'm sure there were on German airfields, however ours were allowed to express themselves on their aircraft.
They were a lot similar to your design with females astride bombs, based on the hollywood stars, wives, or girlfriends of the day.

On my TRX I have a yzf rear end and dogbones, which make it higher, handles just fine.

Hello Dave,

yes, the belly paintings are often seen on allied bombers, but some few pilots/squadrons in the german airforce have some belly paintings, too.
But mostly there are things like a hornet, an eagle's head or somthing else seen on them.

I agree, the goldspots are a nicer looking caliper than the blues.

Ah well, if ,(like me), you have a CNC`ed key to remove them you can easily get them anodised whatever colour you like.
Although Kayla is of the impression that the gold caliper plugged versions are actually torsionally stronger (more rigid) than the earlier blue versions. I`ve no additional knowledge on them myself, so will happily take her word on it.

Well, seeing as how you called...

The gold spots are lighter than the R1 and R6 blue spots (the pistons are a different material - titanium maybe?) but the bodies are the same, I think. It's the earlier Thundercat/ace calipers that aren't as 'good' (it's relative, I know ) and are a bit heavier. They're all better than the standard calipers though

Yes, the golden calipers have perhaps half the weight of the blue ones, i guess the pistons are of aluminium.

And if you're comparing Thundercat/Ace calipers and R1/R6 calipers, you'll see, that the R1/R6 calipers haven't additional brake lines.
