Steering Stabilisers/Dampers

This is a topic i havent seen come up..and since i had a run on Kevs machine with a nice steering damper fitted , has made finding one a priority..there are some cheap ones on the e-bay, but then you usually only get what you pay for...but then the chinese are throwing some exceptions these days...

The topic has come up a few times but most of us find the TRX so stable we don`t feel the need to fit / use one.
Although saying that there has also been a few members who swear by them, personally I love a little `head shake`, let`s you know you`re finding the limits of both the bike and your own abilities.

Out of curiosity Alex...have you had your 750 front end resprung to your weight ???
Would you have to take into account this is now on a TRX???
I remember seeing a topic on the R1 front ends and the valving and spring being too soft to suit the TRX.
I looked at this question when I first joined the site but got around the problem by revalving and respringing the std forks.

I have 2003 R1 forks in the front of my TRX850 - took the bike to MCTechnics (one of the UK's best suspension places)

Their opinion is the 2003 forks have springs to hard for an R1 but they are spot on for the TRX (due to the TRX being a heavier bike).

Valving is perfectly good for fast road riding you would only need to change things for racing.
