the tank is the only part that i havent done ..cobba, really go for the black theme, and the tank is origional/ 96 , and would hate to do it any harm..ive got Kevs red tank in case of a big direction change...speaking of a big change..we have in OZ a pressure pack can with what ive known it to be as "kiwi chrome" as it was intended to be a ..spray over.. for rusted and cracked chrome bumpers..as its an oil based paint, i am interested to try it [clear over it after drying] as an aluminium look to the body panels....see how it goes..maybe a ww2 aircraft [carefully done] theme...similar to that ww2 merlin engined drag car in the USA..
Alex, nothing to do with drag cars but an interesting aside re Merlin/Allison Aircraft Engines.
Some years back in the Old Country,( NZ) an fella by the name of Len Southward squeezed a AllisonV12 into a speed boat.
The boat was called Redhead, and it was seriously quick.
Nothing could touch it in NZ or Australia at the time, and it so frustrated the race organisers around both countries that they ruled that anything above 10 cylinders was illegal, as the Allison is a V12.Just to stop him winning. So Len cut off 2 cylinders and beat them all again.

The vessel came to a sad end when it threw a blade off the prop while racing in the Marlbough Sounds, and holed it, and she sank.

The vessel was salvaged by Len and went on display at his Southward Museum at Paraparaumu. holed hull and all.

Marvellous engines and what the tech skills thery had in the fiftyes and before, with the supercharging ect..mind you the need for the technology and engineering was defence and war...with my [becoming aware] years in Rabaul /Papua New Guinea..i was surrounded with the discard of the americans and the japanese..four barrelled bofors guns .japanese light tank/bren gun carriers..assorted gear would be collected by the saw mill native workers from the mountains as they were timber getting.. and tossed onto the refuelling ute for the scrap dealers...rusted woodpecker light machine guns, heaps of gear..all of which we would set up defensive positions with all this defunct weaponry and throw fireworks at each other..i look back and wish i had collected some of the things that we were playing with, especially the japanese light tank..just a two tonner...u tube is my favorite for the V12 engines and old war gun camera clips.

Rabaul... :o Janet(my partner) was born and grew up in Rabaul and tells me stories about playing in the tanks and planes also(remember the Japanese tank infront of the picture theatre)and I grew up climbing thro the tank museum at Puckapunyal(army camp) after school. Easter and Xmas there was always joy rides in A.P.C.'s. At age 6 I tried to hot wire one from the museum
The pic of Rabaul harbour are before the Volcano eruption that destroyed Janets place and Tsnarmi that followed
