Just wondering whether anyone knows whether any wheel other than an original yzf750 item will fit (without spacers and all that jazz) between YZF750 forks (in YZF yokes)? I've got some YZF forks, but no YZF wheel, and R1 wheels (or R6, or Fazer, etc.) are much easier to find than YZF items.

Also, a thunderace i think is the same as a TRX. Im not sure, but maybe the thunderace and early YZF750 might be the same ?!? I think thosdr 2 guys have YZF swing arm + rear wheel.

I'd hold out for a YZF wheel if I were you (I might have one available soonish BTW) R1/6 wheels have no provision for a speedo drive and use different disc mounts etc. Not sure about Fazer, but chances are they wont fit ether...

I can get a YZF wheel, but it has no tyre or discs with it. Plus it's white, which is a fine colour, but doesn't really work with my black bike + grey rear wheel, so it would have to go off for powder coating.

Honk, any idea about the spacing or compatability otherwise on the Thunderace wheel? I think there's one or two of those on e-bay with discs, and AFAIK they had speedo drive off the front axle.

Keep it mind that the mounting points for the calipers from the YZF forks are made for 320 mm discs.
I think Thunderace uses 300 mm discs (like the TRX), it differs between R1 models.

Pretty much - yes

By the time you've got another wheel, made spacers, adapted the speedo drive (if you can, otherwise its a digital dash needed), made the calipers line up etc, you may as well get a YZF wheel which goes straight in and will take the standard TRX calipers, or the bluespots with a slight mod, and the standard speedo drive. I'd get the back wheel done white to match, instead of the front one done in grey!!

Cheers for that mate...I'm going with a YZF wheel. I have nothing against white wheels, but I just don't think it works with my very black TRX (including black harris bellypan ahem carbon cans, black frame & co but silver engine).

One thing that confuses me - if I buy YZF discs at 320mm instead of 300 for the R series and the TRX, don't I need an adapter for R bike blue spots? Or does one use 300mm discs which happen to have the same bolt spacing and dishing (if any) as the 320s? At £££££ for a set of discs, I don't want to order the wrong ones.

Unfortunately my blue spots are Chunderfat items, so it looks like I need "new" calipers also. Hmm, maybe it's time for silver or gold spots?

You don't need a spacer, the bolt spacing is the same, 100mm.
But you need to cut out a small piece, like this:

Speaking about wheels, I could do with some measurements, as I don't really know what type of rim I have. Previous owner told me that my bike had YZF 750 rims both front and rear, but I am not sure about the front actually. I now have Marvic rims "for some kind of Yamaha" according to the seller (Which I in a way believe, because the TRX discs bolt on nicely, and so do the 320 mm discs I got with the rims, and the front axle is the same diameter.) The problem I have now is that it seems that the Marvic rim is 1 mm wider where the discs bolt on, causing the discs to be wider spaced and therefore not centered in the calipers.

I'd be interested to see what measurements different rims have, TRX std, YZF750, R1, R6, so anyone with the possibilities to measure, please do so. Then I can hopefully order the right discs for my rims... My (YZF750 or std TRX?) rim has 158 mm between the diskhubs, the Marvic has 159...

Of course, silly me... the carriers space out the calipers for the 320mm discs, it's just a question of where the bolts mount on the calipers.

Which brakes are you using there? FZS?

Really, that wide? OK, thanks! Then it's not possible to bolt on a R1 rim. What dimension is the shaft btw?

And just to clarify, I don't mean the distance between the actual brake area, the swept area, but the wheel's thickness where they bolt on. I think You nderstood that right, but just wanted to make myself a bit clearer. English isn't the first language for me nor for plenty others here

I looked att the wrong nrs, my Marvic rims have 115,3 mm between disc to disc where they bolt on, and the other rim (YZF750 or standard) has 113 mm.
