It´s time to do something with the back suspension. I can´t afford an Öhlins. The Hagon shock is half the prize of an Öhlin here in Sweden and not that much more expensive than letting an expert renovate the OEM shock.
What is the best choise; Put the money on a new Hagon or renovate the OEM?

I would go for a Hagon or basic EMC unit with the correct spring rate for your weight, intended use and the front end.

I do like my Ohlins shock but really it's just "icing on the cake" - more important to get the spring rate correct and some sort of functioning dampening. Both the Ohlins and the WP on my Duke II felt very "plush" compared to my stock shock, so I wouldn't worry too much about not having enough damping from the Hagon - that's probably the better setup for road use.

I don't recall what your front end is, but looking at the Racetech website, replacing the fork springs and giving the forks a service while you're replacing the old shock would be a good idea. The stock TRX ones, according to them, have a rate about 50% of the recommended figure!

I ran a Hagon rear shock for a while. It was good, but replaced a standard one that had done 15,000 miles so was bound to feel better.

My thought too. The stoch fork is getting a service and new springs from Wilbers.
