I've just been trial-fitting everything onto my YZF front end. The R6 calipers I have, which I thought would fit where my older blue spots don't, foul the brake carrier brackets. I.e. you can't bolt them up without the blue-spot bit of the caliper hitting the carrier.

Do I have to angle grind the carrier to make them fit (I know some people have done this...)? Or is there a secret model of bluespot caliper that definitely works?

You have to modify the fork bottom to fit them, or use YZF calipers. Search on here: there was a post not long ago about it.

If you do modify the caliper mount to accept the blue spot calipers, do a good job of it. Smooooth profiles, not sharp edges and polished as smooth as you can. The mounting is under a fair bit of stress and is made of aluminium alloy which is prone to fatigue and cracking. I you do a really nice job of it like honkdawilly's it should be fine.

With the 320mm YZF dics, I also had to angle grind the brake pads a little, or they will hit the... don't know what they are called. Well, the brake pads will be to big!

To clarify this point: OE YZF discs are a 'narrow track' design to work with 6 pot calipers... Ducati or similar discs can be used with Blue spots without modification....
