YZF750 Rear vs R6

I have a quick question, is there a visual distinction that can be made between an original YZF750 rear rim and a similar r6 rim. Also, if anyone knows the YZF750 wheel part number (the number branded on the wheel - spoke I think) this would be great.

Look at:

http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/parts/home.aspx

YZF750 rear wheels:

Part no. 4FM-25338-00-7B 1996
Part no. 4FM-25338-01-7B 1997
Part no. 4FM-25338-01-7B 1998

Etc...

Yeah that's cool Trixy. Those YZF numbers, are they the ones that are visible on the wheel itself (the one stamped on the spokes)? Cheers, I think a guy is trying to screw me out of a sale after I have paid for it - down side to buying things like this over the net - had it also happen with an R1 front-end that was mysteriously "stolen" after I would have got it for a 'steal' - $450 so I don't wanna be screwed (like that) again. No response necessary Cobba :P

If I'm not mistaken 4FM is the model (YZF750), 25338 is the part number, 00 etc is the model version (01 indicates a change) and 7B would be the colour code.

Aussie all the mate

Anyway, here's the story as to why I posted this topic. I recently purchased a YZF750 rear rim for the TRX. On the weekend, the bloke then sends me another message on the weekend saying that upon trying to clean up the rim, it was more damaged than he originally thought and that he would refund my money. Not wanting to give up a YZF rim so easily (after searching for a while), I mentioned to him that I may still be willing if he could provide pictures of the damage (to which he obliges - eventually). He then mentions finally that the wheel is from an R6, so I get him to send me some pictures of the part number (stamped on the spoke) and he does. Now my question is this - what model R6 is this off and will it fit the TRX swingarm as the YZF one does? Attached are the pictures (including the spoke with model number).

Now, I am going to see if I can still meet up with him and check this wheel out, even though I will get my money back, simply to measure this up and see if the dimensions are that much different to the YZF, or even the TRX wheel. Could be another option for the 180 rear for people wanting this path (Stu99, myself, and others maybe...).

Anyway, your professional feedback would be very greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
(except you cobba :D )

 Just had a look on mine for you scmiffee but cant see anything as its been painted over. Seems to me that you could get a better wheel for it than that though.

Yeah but if it would fit the TRX swingarm (being an r6 wheel), then it may be easier to find than a YZF rim....that's my thinking at the moment :P Obviously in better condition of course :D

:D Yep bought from Phuk a while back, had spacers then made up to fit it, I dont see why you cant do this to an R6 wheel either as i suspect Yamaha wouldn't change bearing widths too much.
