Best filter for FCR's

Post by Terzikat » Fri Feb 26, 2010 12:27 am

Finally, finally, finally doing the FINAL dry build on my TRX project (3 years in the making and WILL get in on the road/track this year).

Installing a pair of FCR 39's and want to know which is the best filter set up to go with?

K&N (which type)
Ramair (which type)
Pipercross (which type)

or any others out there.

Any preference between individual pods or twin pods?

Advice appreciated please :D

The best filters are those that your carbs are jetted for

My personal preference is for individual K&N pod filters - no particular reason why but I don't like foam filters

That said, Ramair socks do seem to flow more air than K&Ns

I have a PiperCross filter on my TDR and it is ace

Thanks, have decided to go for ramair oval pods from Allens Performance. Incidentally I dry fitted the FCRs to the motor last night and found that the accelerator pum fouls on the oil filler tube. The screw in spigots on the carbs are marked H33 which I assume stands for 33m. I reckon then need to be another 5 - 10mm long in order not to foul.

Has anyone had a similar issue :?:
