Quick action throttle

Post by GR5677 » Tue May 25, 2010 11:44 am

Hi, anyone know best option for fitting a faster acting throttle to a std TRX? Carpal tunnel problems mean I get on better with a 65-70 degree throttle rather than the full 90 it seems to have as stock.

On my last bike a fitted a plastic ring around the throttle tube where the cable lies which worked a treat but that was only a single cable rather than a push-me pull-you set-up.

Thanks

G

Speak to Allens:

Tell them your problem, they`ll be able to offer assistance and always stock plenty of throttle types too.
Just been looking at their throttles and perhaps the `stroke multiplier`:

Might work well for you.
I had a wee dirty thought about it when I read the description.

awesome - I've always wondered what brand my quick action throttle was (came with the bike) - matches the KRS-900 exactly!

yeh, I actually recently had to replace the throttle cables and that set me back around 50quid to get them remade, no doubt replacements would have been cheaper had I known where to find them!

Looks like there are a few that might work. Will have to work out the current rate of throttle cable movement first though. Tempted to have a DIY go first as did not see anything with a rising rate action as I had on the Daytona - first 25 degrees was nearly stock rate, ramped up from there.
