Pazzo upgrade

Well I finally got round to fitting some Pazzo's to my TRX.
About a month ago I managed to source a set of 1999 R1 clutch and brake master cylinder mounts in mint condition via eBay for £30. I then had problems sourcing Pazzo levers believe it or not. I had the misfortune to find a local supplier who turned out to be a total time waster and added 3-weeks to the job with lots of failed promises and no Pazzos. Luckily I didn't part with any money. I finally got fed up with him and went to my local Hein Gericke and ordered a set of short, black Pazzos for £139....which arrived 2-days later!
So yesterday pm was set aside for some TRX fettling. Decided to start with the clutch side first. Grip off, switchgear off, disconnect clutch cable, unmount TRX setup, install R1 mount, bolt lever on, reconnect and adjust clutch cable and that was about it. The only slight mod required was cutting down the brass sleeve (-5mm or so) from the TRX clutch lever to make it fit the R1 Pazzo lever. Across to the brake side. Drained the reservoir, unbolted the TRX assembly. On with the R1 setup, reconnect brake lines (using new copper washers), refill reservoir and bleed. Job jobbed in about an hour or so including a tea break! I did have a mate help me, given that bleeding brakes is much easier with 2 sets of hands!
So I now have some lovely levers that I can reach comfortably and an R1 m/c connected via braided hoses to 2002 R1 calipers. I'm off out for a '2-fingered' play today with aforementioned mate to confirm the loveliness of Pazzo levers....they might be a bit salty price wise but you can see and feel the quality to them. If I ever sell my TRX, which is unlikley, I'll simply fit some OE R1 levers to the TRX, remove the Pazzo levers and buy the appropriate mounting blocks (circa £40) for my next bike so I'll have Pazzos for life now! The £139 doesn't seem so painful looking at it this way and spares are readily available if you break something.
And for all you picture whores, here they are in all their glory! Hopefully I've managed to retain an OE look, with a nice worthwhile upgrade to boot and yes those are heated grips! Once you've had them you never have a bike without them again!!

I've also replaced the 12-year old OE water hoses with some nice Samco ones, mindful that I will be spending 10-days in the Pyrenees, Andorra and Spain in early September and I don't want a baggy old hose letting go on me! Again another nice, quality upgrade that fits beautifully. I have noticed that my TRX runs a smidge cooler than before, possibly due to having the rad flushed through and new fluid but the Samco blurb says this is one of the benefits of these hoses so perhaps its true! £60 well spent. You can just about see their blue loveliness peeking out in both photos!!
Next job up is an oil change and thats about me lot for now....until I spot something else I can't do without that is!!
