Had a topbox on the TDM and found it really usefull. Its a Givi E45 which takes 2 full face helmets or All my boots and leathers but not helmet.
I made a bracket with same type of fittings as the pillion seat so its detachable, but also secure. It has an M5 Givi baseplate that has a hole in the middle so you can just remove the box and still get at the space below.
Couple of pics;- If anyone is interested i will take some pics of the underside of the bracket.

You can also simnply bolt an old top box to a psare pillion seat (although this requires putting holes in teh top box)
