hi guy's and gal's
looking into customising the old trx , here in oz there is a guy who has a cafe racer conversion , it really looks the buisness and really good value
my other option is to change the seat to an r1 style and maybe put on a modern fairing , the new xj6 diversion for example
has anyone contempleted a modern facelift for the old girl ???
i like the dual light look as well , but if a different more modern look is available i'll give it a go . . . . oh its for road use so i needs a working headlight
any thoughts or ideas will be greatly appreciated

Look through members rides and the gallery, you`ll get all the ideas you might need.

Hello,
I would stick with the cafe style http://trx850caferacer.com/
I have seen a modified FZR fairing but it takes alot of cutting.
Over racing used to do full fdairings for TRX, it may be worth a search.
Post the links in here if you find some info.

I just took a ducati 748 fairing and headlight unit off mine, looked good but not my riding style, also felt it was trying to be a bit too much like a ducati. Ducati fairing was on it when I got it, top part only so dont know how well sides would fit but dont see why not.

Try SV650/1000 or TL1000 off a Suzuki, look very appealing & modern to upgrade current fairing,
comes with daul headlights, a bit of modifying but looks good.

I've seen an Aprilia RS250 fairing and seat on one and it looks pretty good. Also there's a piccy on the internet floating around of one guy's TRX with Laverda SFC750 style bodywork. That too looks good =D>

Had the piccies on the old computer, probably a bit had to retrieve. I think they might be on a usb stick somewhere though. I'll ask my son where he's hidden it #-o

Hi I have done quite a bit of work in that department. Mine is not for the purests out there. I put on a 2006 r6 full fairing and seat unit. It does require quite a bit off buggering around with though. although all of mine was done in the garage so its not to difficult. Its worth noting that to fit the seat unit i did cut off the old subframe and then grafted a 2002 seat unit that also required work. If you want any pics then PM me with an email address.

If anyone is at the Australian Phillip Island Motogp you can check out the TRX850 Cafe Racer in the flesh. It will be part of the Motorcycle Trader Magazine display at the Expo. See you there.
