A little help please chaps, whats the difference between yamaha trx 850 4NX1 (1995 japan?) and 4UN1 (1996 uk bike) fork legs?

I've seen some fork shields but the info says only for ANX1.

All i can think is the outside diameter of where the dust seal sits is different.

Any one with a 4NX1?

I await enlightenment.

Hmmmm, that`s odd I thought the only difference was in the Japanese spring rates being even lower than European TRX`s.I look forward to being proved wrong though.

2mm larger in the diameter between Japanese home market and rest of the world fork legs. Tried to sell a fork brace to a guy with an import and it wouldn't fit.

I can understand the spring rate but why have two sets of front ends? That doesn't make sense.

The trx is a parts bike, bits of it sourced from lots of other models ;such as FZR (foot pegs, headlight) RZ (tail light) XTZ (engine) etc. The Japanese home market forks probably came from an early XJ600.
