Well,, what does Quan do when he is bored ? Usually makes something totally pointless / unneeded.
Ive spent ~3hrs on them so far, possibly 4. So about 2hrs each to get to this stage. Another 1hr each and they will be finished. Gonna have em done in the next day or 2.

The reason i did this is i wanted a nice R1 master cylinder. I couldnt find one locally, and interstate ones (australia) were HUGELY expensive. I found a wrecked yammy 2007 R1, and was able to get the whole lot delivered for $250aud. Master cylinder, 2 calipers, stock brake lines. Bargain.
So im making these adapters to suit.. Yes i could buy some, but why do that when i can make the for nothing ?

Mine are slightly different, but will basically do the same job. Ive also gone for the (fake) pazzo levers which were $56aud delivered. They bolted in perfectly, no mods / anything. I SWEAR they are pazzo, just without the marking. From what ive heard, Pazzo are made in china now under licence. So i strongly suspect these are made in the same factory.
Anyway, here's my attempt, ill have them finished tomorrow i HOPE, and ill take a pic of the finished work.

umm,, the black thing with GasS!" written on it, thats the adapter ? no idea, look for that brand name for i guess.

Heres what it looks like currently. Still not finished, gotta do the radius work on it and get it either anodized or chromed and im done. But technically its "usable" now.



The top inside part looks like it doesnt line up, but it does. They are not tightened up properly yet, so its a bit of an "optical illusion".

I need to get some bolts to also hold the caliper to the adapter.

Anyway, again, once i get some more work done on mine, ill post it up as i do it.

So when are you going to go to production??
Is that 298 or 320 discs? Would love to have a set for my 03 fork, guess one could source R1 6-pots quite cheap.

i could make up a drawing, also, the beauty of radial mounted disks is you just put a few washers in there to space the caliper out more for bigger disks

I can make some up for others who want em, but it would be a "per order" basis, and also dependant on the caliper you buy. As the offset would be different on most of them im gonna guess. Brembo's would be mostly "universal" where as the 6pot yammy ones i have would be unique. But thats something i can work out anyway. No huge deal.

Sure thing. Once ive completed them you can have a look, see if its what you want, and i can make a set up.

I have a mate with some brembo's and can measure them up as im positive they are a "universal" size and offset. But if you want the 6pot yammys like what i have, thats a bit easier on my end.

Once ive done the full job, ill work out a time / cost basis, but they should be much cheaper than $259 USD like the other set.
Im hoping you have USD R1 forks ? Or do you still have the stock TRX units ? The offset will be identical, BUT id need a pic of the inside of the fork as the R1 has some detail work there to make them sit properly. Its to do with the compression adjuster.. Its what I have so its no biggie as I already have the info.

I suspect the stock TRX ones DONT have any detail, but id just like confirmation on it is all.
Theres a few other things to note, as you said, disk diameter, if you dont know, it would be 298 which is fairly common. Do you want some spacers for bigger disks, or just make them bigger by default ? Do you want new stainless cap head bolts ? Raw alu finish, polished, anodized, etc ??

Just wait a few days till ive 100% done mine, have a think about it, we can go from there.

Yup, got the -03 R1 fork as per the the top picture on site....
Yup, got 298mm kagizume discs....as pic...
Yup, would like spacers if i at a later stage descide to go for 320 brembos...
Bolts would be good so i don´t have to search my a** off, raw alu is ok coz i´ll probably powder them...

Yeah, ive thought about ceramic coating, it can look really slick.

Im still deciding if i totally remove that little pocketed area or leave it as is, to be solid. What ya think ?

For looks i don´t care....strength is good!

so now they're done....what about radial calipers to TRX forks??
many of us already have std f/end but with modded internals.
just gives us more choice eh!

I got a pair of adapters here for standard fork wich are 60mm brembo so one can install 6 or 8 pot calipers...

aussie TRiXies came with sumitomo calipers upfront.
not too sure about the spacing/offset.
still stops quite well with braided lines tho...
