Hi all. Wanted to share the following with you. I have done this conversion for looks alone as there are several threads covering the pros and cons of having a wider rear wheel and I don't really want to go down that avenue.
Ingrediants:
YZF 750 swing arm (no mods)
Early 98 model R1 rear wheel. 190 tyre
Standard R1 wheel spacers.
R1 wheel spindle.
GPX 600 sprockets - 15t front 39t rear.
530 chain from the standard R1 - chain shortened
YZF 1000 Thunderace caliper hanger.
TRX 850 rear brake caliper.
Method:
Have 4mm wheel spacer made up to push wheel over to the right hand side of swing arm. From what I could see the difference between the standard TRX swinger and the YZF was the extra width to the left hand side of the arm.
Need to finish:
Remove material from inside of caliper hanger 3mm so standard caliper lines up
Have r/h wheel spacer made to accommodate new width. Estimated at being about 15mm
