For those of you with Ramair filters fitted, what do you use for cleaning them? Ramair recommend their own cleaner (of course) and their Polymer aerosol to recharge them. With my other pod filters i just use kerosene to clean and air filter oil to recharge. what are your thoughts and recommendations chaps?

Never cleaned it
...Use it to keep small birds out

Normal kerosene or paraffin. Then a cheap old silicon spray to give them a wee dressing, DO NOT make them dripping wet though.

Thats the exact reason why i'm asking Killer, i rode through a small cloud of grasshoppers on Monday (sort of like a small bird) and ended up getting some green guts around the filter. Front of the bike had this 3D effect happening
Not sure about using aerosol silicon though Mince, the solvents could break down the foam over time. Depends on the brand i guess. I usually pour the oil on and squeeze as much back out as i can.

Ah well, you only `mist` it on, as I said soaking the closed cell foam could have an effect.
In the UK it never gets dry enough for dust!

Or clouds of grasshoppers either! Just rain, rain & rain

We get green fly, ladybird and the damn midgees up here but grasshoppers?
The only grasshoppers I ever see these days are the dealers running from the gavvers vaulting across folks fences and gardens!

do you think you could ask the nice pro,s from eurocarb what they might recommend... to grasshopper proof your socks..???

Just put a little monk on your fairing with a message saying ''AAAH Grasshopper master Po say grasshopper that stick to filter be a dumb dead sucker''
