How much work does it need to fit a R6 seat/rear end to the TRX?
What R6-model (year) is the easiest to fit and does it involve modifications to the rear frame?

Anyone got some pictures of the "project"?

I have done this mod, it looks great however, be warned. You have to do a lot of work, you need a fair bit of skill in general engineering and welding / fabrication. You obviously need R1/6 Undertray rearlight, fibreglass R1/5 tail tidy- undertray, plate / indicator bracket, R1/R6 front and rear seat.

You need to cut the rear subframe shorter and cut away the sub frame below the top rails. I welded new tubes in to support the top rails so I could retain rear seat. The top rails were spread to fit the R1 rear light. I cut off the rear seat mount.

I had to cut the standard TRX undertray above the battery compartment. The R1 tail unit was fitted, side mounting bolts line up with TRX ones. I fabricated some mounting brackets with 6mm tapped holes, line them up with the tail unit mounting holes and tacked them in place on the frame. when happy with the fit these were welded in place.

I then recommend you make up a cardboard cut out of your undertray and cut it to fit your modified undertray and frame. Once happy with your fit, cut your undertray to suit. Drill undertray for number plate / indicator bracket. Make brackets for rear light and fit to undertray, fit rear light.

You can then fit undertray to tail unit The R1 rear seat cover is removed and the TRX seat lock is fitted. The seat Catch fitted to the frame rails was extended and tacked in place to suit the seat lock. The rear seat needed location, so I welded 6mm tapped plates on to the top rails and fitted lage headed 6mm screws which located in to the rear seat

The front seat cover was removed and the TRX seat bracket was fitted, I also modified the front part of the seat to make it fit. The seat can then be fitted and will fit in place.

I fitted mini indicators to the indicator/ number plate bracket and fitted the number plate.

Then bar painting you are done

For the R6 tail to look right, I think you need to cut the whole bottom subframe rail away to clean the lines up.

I have almost identical stubby carbon cans like those Termignoni`s on mine (at the moment), good an loud they are too!

Yes they are quite loud, I gave it the beans past a couple of strolling rozzers on the beat, the looks on their faces was priceless - sort of outrage and hatred mixed
