Advice for rebuilding OEM Forks?
Hi all,
I remember finding some good info on rebuilding and setting up the front forks ages ago, but I can't find it again now that I need it.
Does anyone have any advice/information about how to rebuild and/or set up the forks? Diagrams etc would be nice, and suggestions on spring weights, oil weight and volume etc would be great.
Thanks and Regards

If you google up the racetech site,it has a program on there to give you the correct spring rate for your weight

I'm not sure I should believe that calculator... Here's the results:
Have I missed something?
EDIT:
Yep... I did... Bike weight was way off...
Recommended spring rate is about a quarter of the standard spring rate...FRONT FORK SPRINGS
Recommended Fork Spring Rate: 0.131 kg/mm (use closest available)
Stock Fork Spring Rate: 0.5 kg/mm(stock)

That's a hell of a long way off stock... I'm amazed...FRONT FORK SPRINGS
Recommended Fork Spring Rate: 0.893 kg/mm (use closest available)
Stock Fork Spring Rate: 0.5 kg/mm(stock)

Re: Advice for rebuilding OEM Forks?
Bit off the mark.. .9kg/mm is favourable 80/ to 90kg for a sport/track rate as a ballpark to start from

Re: Advice for rebuilding OEM Forks?
From memory the stock TRX spring rate is suited for a 76kg rider but front springs are usually $160/200

Re: Advice for rebuilding OEM Forks?
I'm 100 odd kilo's running .9 springs & 15W fork oil at the recommended level.
I also replaced the seals & few of the fork internal components at the same time, they work well for me.
