How to fit warning/hazard lights on?

Post by drix » Mon Jul 18, 2011 6:52 pm

Hi all

I was wondering if it was possible to add a switch and have a hazard/warning light function on a UK/EU spec TRX? I know the Japanese spec has that instead of the front light switch on the UK spec... since I'm greedy, I'd like to have both features.

I've found some topics that cover the conversion of a Japanese spec into a UK/EU spec but didn't find anything like what I'd like to do.

I guess this is prob easy to do but wondering if anyone had done that and how? :D

Cheers
Adrien

You`ll need a three pin flasher relay for a car, (cheap in Halfords) to start with, the two pin original won`t cope with the 72W (4 x 18W bulbs) loading.
The third pin is an earth btw.
Without stressing about it too much and not being eau fait with electrics you could always buy a kit like this:

And Mince strikes again... never thought of working for Yamaha or running your own bikes workshop?

That Ebay link is a good&easy option, looks perfect for the job!! :D

Over 40 years around bikes Drix, fettling engines with the old man from about the age of six or seven too.
I`ve pals in the `business`, pals that own and run precision engineering companies too, by trade I`m a vehicle technician who turned to precision engineering but now work for the NHS in a hospital environment.
I only get my hands greasy for pleasure these days!
I`m glad to have been able to have helped you out fellow TRX`er.
