a quality upgrade..mind, i had to lie down on the floor to view some of them.....

different comp. adjustment on the silver sprung unit compared to the earlier 06/07 red spring units I notice.
Do they still have a lo and hi speed attack for the comp

yup.
30 clicks hi spd/30 clicks lo spd and 25 clicks on the bottom.
lots of spring preload steps too.

Yamaha std settings for '09 R6 shock as per Yamaha service data..
: Spring preload = 4th notch from full soft.
: Fast compression = 12mm nut = 3 turns out from full hard.(minimum 4 turns / max 0 clicks out)
: Slow compression = 3mm allen key = 16 clicks out from full hard.(minimum 20 / max 1 click out)
: Rebound = slotted head screw = 16 clicks out from full hard.(minimum 20 / max 3 clicks out)
went for a test ride up beechmont, over illinbah and a coffee stop at The outpost.

they use a nut and allen key for comp adjustment instead of two blade screw adjusters I can see now Hope your happy with it.. notice the difference on the power out of the corners than the old stock jobbie

I went for a sprint in the hills this morning . . . up beechmont, down Beechmont, up the Advancetown GP, down the Advancetown GP.
The standard R6 settings were making the bike pitch forward over bumps and the turn in was heavy.
I've settled on the following settings for now:
36psi front, 40psi rear.
5 lines showing on the front, 2nd clicks rebound damping, forks thru 15mm extra.
rear 4th spring preload, rebound 10 clicks out from full hard, fast compression 2 turns out from full hard, slow compression 10 clicks out from full hard.
The rear is much more composed and the turn in feels quite neutral.
Bearing in mind i'm 65kg, half a tank and only a 6kg exhaust system.

That's really high! I know tyre pressures are subjective, but I used 33/36 on mine and you're only a few kilos heavier than me

I used to run 33/36 as well, but with a much stiffer setup.
Softened up the front end a bit, jacked up the rear(courtesy of yours truly) and i find good grip and stability at 36/40 on the soft front/intermediate rear.
we have some bumpy roads down here in convict alley.

I'm weighing in at 86kg suited up and find I'm happy with the 33/36 pressure... even if I throw Janet on the back with another 58kg suited up
