Hello everyone,

just to be sure - and summarize what Ive read on this forum.

If I want to have rear swingarm from YZF 750 - I definitely need rear rim from YZF - is there any disadvanatage of using 180 tire on TRX (as I know, that yzf rim is wider) ?

Front forks from YZF750 - I need triple clamps, shocks and handlebars, axis.. Do I need front wheel ? Will I fit R1 calipers directly to yzf fork as easy as to TRX one ?

gidday there Tesa..a 180 tyre will fit the yzf swing as it was intended for it, i have a 170 which will give better cornering, ...i also have the nice R6-- gold spots which fit the yzf USD front ..but you will need to file a rounded piece out of your mounting ...see my thread titled..[half trx, half yzf].in this topic thread for photos....these yzf fronts are getting harded to find now.

But still do I need to use yzf750 front wheel with discs 320mm, or its okay, with original trx wheel (300mm) discs and bluespots ?

The yzf 750 wheel is needed for the yzf 750 forks.and 320mm discs...they have the correct width for the forks and use a larger diameter axle than the trx.....i have used the 300mm trx discs and calipers on the yzf wheel and forks..but it isnt a long term soloution.....ditch the six pot yzf calipers [ too old and expensive to service] and put a set of blue or gold spots with the r6 master brake cylinder..[the trx one WILL work though with the spots]...id go with what was designed for the yzf front, that way you dont have to worry with machineing spacers ect.

And I must find somewhere a front wheel with discs, but winter will be long..

I have blue spots now working on the standard pump.

Im looking forward to post there a pictures of changes which Ill make ..

You will need to modify/file the yzf fork bottoms to fit the blue spots i think.
Can anyone confirm?

Please find the difference between the first image and the last one above for the mod to fit the gold / blue spots..there is a main spine running up the inner of the caliper support, so im sure its not weakened too much ..

Buying the whole shebang is the way to go, as in pieces and separately you can lack something which is frustrating in the fit-up..you WILL need a yzf rear caliper bracket and can fit the TRX rear caliper straight up..also you will need to feed the drive chain through the left reinforcement of the yzf swing, a problem for the chains without a removeable link..post a photo of the after your first fast run..OH.. and double click on the photos if you want close ups..cheers

Are the yzf discs 320mm as standard or do you have to get some from another bike?

Yep, the 320s are the correct size for the yzf..i think the fzr 1000 has them as do many of the 90s ducati bikes..find the yzf ones on e-bay as they will list the size and offset in the advert , an xjr 1300 Yamaha i think has them as well.

I would like to ask which brake calipers are better 6pots from yzf750 or R1 bluespots ?

I have oportunity to buy frontend from yzf with calipers, or without....

ive got a set of 6 pots that came with the whole front end..even though they looked ok, half of the calipers worked and the rest were either seized or filled with gum..thats when i realised that these calipers are around eighteen years old, and i shouldnt expect much anyway...i then asked my Yamaha dealer to price the pistons and full seal set..my silly smirk was wiped by the individual costing....seriously,, and binned the buggers...!

i used the origional TRX [modified] calipers until my 2008 -R6 gold spots[better than the blue]..came from USA and at a total cost of 150 dollars...end of story, its now time for bed...!!
