Wavy Discs

I now some of you out there have wavy discs on the front of you beloved Rexies, my mate will need some new disc soon and i was wondering what make did you guys go for, oh and how much did you pay (if that's not being to cheeky).

I got ABM 'Peak' rotors front and back,work really well and feel great. 690 Aussie peso's, but they're German so you might get them cheaper on the continent or even that funny little island off the side.

I've got these beauties, € 450.- a set, but with the TDM/TRX Club
discount they were € 390.-

Braking rear - not sure about front.
TBH, it's all about bling - I will be going for cast iron PFM discs next time as I don't believe that wavy discs really make that much of a difference.

Bling doesn't bother him or me to be honest, thanks for the honest reponse. Most of the peolpe i spoke to rave about them but it might just be becasue they don't want to admit that extra moneywasn't repaid with performance.

Don't get me wrong - they do offer benefits over stock discs. The decent ones are lighter and mine certainly felt better in terms of stopping power but you do have to ask why racers don't use wavy discs.

Agree.
It also might be worth remembering that the road and racetrack are very different environments. It's not always sensible to use race oriented products for road use, particularly so with brakes.
I had 'upgrade' discs on my ZRX (note not race/track). Performance under perfect conditions were probably marginally better than standard, but in the cold and wet they offered very poor performance, and were absolutely lethal.

you'd be better of putting the money into a full R1 front end.

I'd strongly suggest not... That is unless you want to steel wool the rust off every five minutes and have them x-rayed on a regular basis. Most teams over here have gone away from the cast iron disks due to catastophic failures (a buddy of mine busted both arms when a front disc exploded while braking for turn one at TI-Aida a few years back, turned him into a human missle at 250kph).

Really? Always heard very good things about the PFM discs.

Stainless... Apparently the manufacturing process has improved to the point where there is very little difference in feel anymore, not to mention the fact you don't have to worry about them exploding at a bad time...
You probably wouldn't have to worry about that on the street (stress fractures), but I don't think you'd enjoy watching them rust before your eyes.
