Latest play FORKS

Been to busy riding and watching a slowly deteriorating fork seal 
Bikes just a hoot to play on the front end has always been a pain though. Soft springs under damped etc etc. Was going to do the whole r1 front end thing but I like the retro look and its just too much hassle and expense for the reward. I'm sure I can get the stock forks to work well enough to be happy with.
So new toys arrived ).95kg/mm springs big up grade from the std 0.55/.75kg/mm or so I'm told.
Something missing here can you guess
Much easier to back off the preload first especially with damper rod forks.
But you do need a deep socket to undo the cap guess you could stuff around its just nice t have the correct tool hence the feel good photo
Internal preload difference between the top can leading edge and the upper fork tube note the fork is fully extended. Best to have around 10mm internal preload.
Very ugly but I did know this it is not a new bike

Spring length difference maybe I should have cut the original ones !!!!!!!!!!!
New spacer made to match the old one. Preload was a bit much but better to start a bit long than too short.
Another good happy feel good pic SEAL GREASE I love the stuff. Been only in the last few years most good seal sets come with some hence the excitement. Bit like one of those you had to be there jokes I guess.
Use the seal driver to seat the bush using the washer to push it in. No seal yet thats why there is no gap between the fork and the seal driver edge.
Seal in now there is a gap.
Don't forget the washer re anneal or use new. These often get caught up in the fork or fall out and go unnoticed. This bolt holds the forks together so it a good idea to do it right.
Bit light for damper rod forks I think but we will see besides its all I had at home.
All washed degreased and ready to go in.
All back in don't it look pretty
Not many preload adjusters ion TRX's look like this have not checked the sags yet I think the spacers are too long
So its a very slow work rate I'd rather ride it, this will help the bike heaps I think. Next is R1 callipers and m/c I missed a set today on ebay
Anyway back to riding and smiling.

After riding I'm going to up the oil to 20w and see how it goes. Low speed damping comp and rebound is too soft with 10w. I know damper rods will never be perfect but they can be better than they are which is a HUGE improvement over stock.
