Hey every body,does any one know if R1 swingarm fits in trx whithoout any mods if so what year/model is best to get,or does any one have a yzf 750 swinger i could buy ?

Not without some heavy modification no, Quantime did it to his, lots of cutting and refabricating to make the R1 arm work.
Better to go with YZF750 or Thunderace arms, direct fit, plug and play, loads of threads here so SEARCH is your friend.

What advantage are we looking for here?

NONE in reality, just more weight, more bling and the choice of a wider tyre fitment that slows turn in!

I like the narrower tyre meself

No need to change the swinger to fit wider rim/rubber mince, the standard swinger will take the 5.5 inch / 180 tyre off a YZF with lttle modification: just some smaller spacers.
The YZF swinger is just a TRX one with some bracing welded on!
BTW the title of this thread is very misleading and lead to great disapointment on my part

So whats in making a trx wheel fit in a YZF swingarm? A set of smaller bearings and some new spacers?
then you have bracing, turn-in and a bit of bling,
Come to think of it wouldnt the slightly raised back end from the yzf dogbones make the turn in a bit quicker anyway due to the steeper head angle?
And why is it that a wider tyre makes for slower turn in?
And whilst Im at it on the questions, whats the difference between front tyre sizes yzf/trx and wheels,I know the yzf has a bigger axle but are front rims the width?

I have been seriously considering going back to the old TRX rear wheel, in my YZF750 swinger, as I would prefer quicker turn in - who wouldn't - to bling of bigger rear

If the rate of turn in is defined by the curve of the tyre (?) then wouldnt putting on a slightly wider tyre say a 190 on the yzf rim give back the turn in, this would be because you are pinching in the sidewalls slightlyand making the tyre bend round, I have looked a (very) little into this and found the 190 to be allowed by some manufacterers to be fitted to the 5.5 width rim.

I'm not suggesting or saying I am going to do this but curious about the subject now, In fact I would probably be more inclined to go for the trx wheel option as I have 3 of very good trx spare tyres now and a 3/4 worn yzf on the bike.

Your average rider canot tell the difference of a wider rear tyre unless significantly wider.... it's just what they've read on't internet

you want more contact patch from your 160 just run a lower tyre pressure.. Go have a good chat to your local tyre dealer on the physics of tyre design .
