Brake Upgrade Massive Fail :(

ok people so...long story short...tried to upgrade my brakes...and have hit a rather major snag...

Bought some Blue Spots off of eBay...item and picture matched what I needed...aka blue spots with the correct mounting for a TRX...paid 'express' postage etc etc...after TWO WEEKS the bloke shipped them...they are the friggen wrong ones :(

I got gold spots from a later model with different mounts...see below.

Image

Since this c**k head i bought them off is extremely hard to contact, unreliable and clearly, an idiot...is there anyway to use these with my bike? perhaps a replacement bracket for the forks (standard trx) or do i have to either;
1. Try and contact him and get my money back and get a pair of the correct calipers.
2. Do an R1/R6 front end conversion.

The image below shows the sort of thing i need

Thanks all! :(

Mate save yourself the misery, list those Radial calipers back on ebay, and buy some Blue spots. You will prob get more for those radials anyway.

My thoughts exactly.

I got my Goldspots for $80, should get more than that for the Radials.

I was thinking much the same thing...blue spots seem to be a bit rare on the eBay market in australia...plenty from the UK/US etc...sigh...postage times!

oh well, does anyone know what year/bike these radials i have are from?

Postage time from the US is not too bad...I'd prefer postage times from the US over the UK any day :P

You CAN have some mounts made up by a good engineering company to mount them, another member milled some up for himself (quantime). But as has already been said from a `cost` point of view it may be best to sell them on and buy some blue, gold, silver spots instead.
Browse Ebay you`ll find some.

If you paid via paypal open a case through e-bay and you could either send them back for a full refund or keep them and settle on partial repayment. I've done it a couple of times when I have received the wrong items from abroad and when the item was wrongly advertised.

I'd just do this, it'll be quicker and easier for you.

We have a set of good blue spots for grabs, with pads and brake lines to fit an r6, maybe fit trx unsure. Calipers definitely will. £60 + post or near offer,

Just noticed your in aus so with post probs won't be worth it.

IIRC, R1 2001 onwards, R6 2002 onwards. Could be wrong on that though...

Get the Goldspots if you can, they look better & they should be a better caliper by most accounts. Newer too, so the rebuild will be further away ;)

Am interested mate, blue spots seem to be hardish to find in Aus, how much would it be with postage? Never seen a pair of suitable gold spots for sale yet...then again I only check ebay nowhere else *shrug*

Says postage is about £30 from a quick quote I did, will make them rather pricey.
