Engine noise on a positive throttle,
Hi all, I joined a while ago but not really had a lot to say, just been enjoying the TRX,but now I have a question I hope someone can help with, the bike seems to have developed a dull rattle when accelerating, seems to be coming from the right hand side of the motor,is particularly noticeable above 4000revs but disappears on a neutral or closed throttle.
I am thinking clutch related? but any theories, past experience would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Engine noise on a positive throttle,
Crikey! Any idea how that happened? Never seen anything like it before.
'95 4NX with K&N filter, Motad Venom cans, YSS PD valves, Ohlins fork springs, 530 C+S, Green CDI, 11/16 radial master cylinder, +30mm jack up dog bones. Enjoyable money pit.

Re: Engine noise on a positive throttle,
I'm hoping it's just down to old age/wear and tear, I am guessing they are the original plates and it is just coming up to 30000miles.

Re: Engine noise on a positive throttle,
No,but I suppose I am not the smoothest/gentlest on the throttle,I have come to the TRX after a succession of KTM v'twins,I like to use lots of engine braking into corners and try to give it as much grunt as I dare on the way out.So maybe I've been a little rough on the old girl given that things like the clutch are probably 17years old.

Re: Engine noise on a positive throttle,
Oh well,that wasn't the problem.
On the way home from work today the dull rattle escalated to a serious clattering and the motor locked up, me thinks it be fooked
