tdm crank in trx motor

I am in need of a crank for a 4nx motor, and have got a chance to have one from a tdm 3vd 1996, Was wondering if anyone knows whether it is compatible?

Not unless you use the cams as well. The 3VD is a 180 deg crank. Plus, it'll sound like a Honda Dream

Thanks for that, so does that mean the 4tx model was the 270 deg ?

Didn't they stop producing the TDM's for 4 or 5 years in the mid 90"s as I can't find it listed in the parts program so 1996????
I can see the parts list with the later 270* crankshaft on a TDM listed as 4NX so sounds a little dubious.
As Dandy said, you will find most engine parts from an early TDM 850 Mk1 apart from the obvious 180* crank and balance shafts with be the same as the TRX.

The Mk1 TDM was from 1991 - 1995 - 3VD
The Mk2 from 1996 - 2001 - 4NX (6 months after the TRX and never suffered the valve closing issues of the TRX)
The 900 from 2002 - 2012?

20+ years of TeDiuMs, I'd 3 of them and with a few tweaks, not a bad bike which took me pretty much all over Europe, as far as the Black Sea.

Must be Australia where they had a bit of a gap from 93-98 as the TDM doesn't appear on our spares list through those periods.
