you get 2/3.. wow.. sux to be you ;)
 plus I'm blonde ... even worse

Still that does help when combined with one of the other 3  the bike's now in the garage being looked at, even though the guys said they were probably too busy on the phone. Amazing what difference it makes turning up and chatting

New plugs going in, they're gonna check the choke/fuel lines to make sure there's nothing blocked or sticking - who knows, it might be something simple. Then they're gonna look further. Hopefully it'll be sorted for the Avebury meet.
Quan-Time wrote:Doubt its the spark plugs. spark plugs drop power, not make it "shunty".. thats the fuel going in for a bit, then not.. thus, power is very bubbly.
That's a good and pretty close description of how it feels, seems to run like it's being held back then suddenly something kicks in and it takes off, only for a few seconds though - backfired a fair bit too.

Ah well - we'll see what they say later :?

Left plug (as you sit on it) choked up with oil.

So - new plugs in - £20 less in my pocket but - the bike's on the road and OK to ride up on Saturday.

ah.. the old oily plug trick.

Ok its like this.. You need to prolly check your carbie, and def do an oil change. pick the right oil for the weather you live in.. Shops can help you with that selection easy.

Oily plug.. TRX common problem. The fact it came on and off was the plug getting "washed" by fuel, then sparking a bit, then getting clogged up again and dropping power.

Surprisingly enough, the left goes way more than the right.. I had this problem. Left the trx out for about 2 weeks.. In wet weather.. moisture got into the exhaust and up thru the open valve (way the trx engine stops, always end there like 90% of the time)..

Swells your spark plug, when you start it next time, BAM oil will come in when plug is warmed up.. The fact you had a shitty exhaust in the 1st place is what started it.. I personally didnt have my exhaust on. just the main headers..

Now you know for next time i guess.. glad you got it sorted and are in action again...
