Guess what santa clause brought me in the post today?

the carbs must leave the factory set up for standard pipes and air box I have seperate K&Ns on, the carbs come with 150 mains and the needle clip position in the middle 4rth groove, if I was you I would order 158 and 160 mains put in the 158 mains and drop the needle one groove by lifting the clip, one groove and fire it onto a dyno, my bike ran worse with the fcrs until I put the bigger mains in, I thought it felt good with the 158s but then fitted the 160s to be sure then took it to the dyno just to see, he quoted me £100 on the phone for it to be set up but I brought my own jets down with me and as he was,nt busy we both worked on the bike there and then, it still cost me £80 but now I have peace of mind knowing it is not running lean and it now pulls even better from quarter to three quarter throttle what shocked me is the bike is smoother than it was with the standard carbs on from small throttle openings, I dont know if you will need bigger mains with your twin pipe set up though I orderd 155,158 and 160, mains

Appreciate that buddy, that makes sense that i will have to change them as ive got a full OVER system on and will run pod filters and not the box.
Im hoping its not that hard to do as ive never stripped carbs down before!!
Did you buy them from br tuning and were they very expensive to buy??

it is realy easy to do billy, honest my main worry is always ringing somthing when working with small nuts and bolts I have hands like bananas, the three sets of jets cost £24 deliverd if I were you I would skip the 155s and go 158,160, and the next size up fit the 158s drop the needles before you even fit them then take it to a local dyno and see what the air fuel is like

Had a look inside Petes 41mm FCR's today to see what mains were fitted. 135's Didn't expect that.

Even the stock motor and CVs use bigger jets than that!

Yes but...........you're comparing Mikuni jet sizes to Keihin jet sizes, which do not equate to the same thing iirc.

No you are right - they are not the same thing (but not actually a world apart)

Even so, virtually everyone I know of with FCRs is running 155s or bigger

Yeah thats right, funny thing is Pete was using more fuel than i was on our last 1000km + run and i've got 158's installed.
