Scorpion cans, how about it?

Post by Tarwetijger » Wed May 07, 2008 10:57 am

My bike is damaged, so i'm looking for new carbonfibre cans. We all know these are hard to find. From the website of scorpion exhausts, I understand these are still made and for sale brandnew. Is this correct? There are not for sale here in the Netherlands, but they are in the UK a.o.. Maybe one of the UK guys (or girls) can tell me if those scorpions are any good, regarding quality, affordability and, of course, the sound. From the website I think they look great and they are also road legal, which is a good thing to me. Anyway, I would like to hear opinions from you guys (and yes, again, also from the girl(s) :) ).

Well .... it's probably just as well you added "girls" (although I'd have let you off if you hadn't) .... I've had Scorpions on mine for the last couple of years and I absolutely love them. They add a lovely growl (especially with the baffles out 8) ). I bought mine off evilbay - cost me £120 I think ... not sure about cost/availability for new ones though. Did have a few problems fitting them and even now they're lopsided (yes yes go on Trixynut ... say it  ). The bike does run different with them on ... one of these days I'll get it sorted  but it's got a bit of a dip around 3-3½k.

I've been half-heartedly trying to sell them (need the money) ... but I really don't want to :|

I'll try and upload a video/sound clip ... but it's probably gonna be a few days before I get chance to do that.

Those expensive ones triggered me. Bidding ended today, I don't know for how much they went.
But if I can't find something else...
Yes I'm that nuts

Didn't know you could get termi's for the rex, they look stunning.

I've got a set of titanium TDM900 cans waiting for me if they will fit!

They´ve stopped production for the TRX so it´s the stuff out in shops as of 2007....

Thanks for all suggestions! If I spend such an amount of money, I'd rather go for road-legal (EC-approved).
In the Netherlands we don't have a thing like MOT, but the cops are paying more and more attention to motorbikes and their exhausts.
In Germany it is even worse.
Also, for trackdays it is important to be "quiet". I'm surprised I never hear other TRX-track-riders about this issue? Is noise not a problem on UK-tracks?

Well, I'd better keep a close eye on evilbay.

It 's only now that I checked this website, and they are affordable indeed!
But what brand are these exhausts, or are they a brand on itself? 8-[

They are their own brand. they make them in-house.

they are very popular on the Fazer owners forum. I think you could do worse for the money.
