Fuel cap rubber seal

Just checked the trx parts manual and there is no fuel cap rubber listed. Pretty average, really, rubber parts (esp in that sort of environment) do tend to need replacing sometimes. Looks like i'd have to buy a complete cap assembly. Screw that, the stealership would prob want at least a couple of hundred for that. I'll just have to be content with having a hard rubber

Peter850 bought that part recently from a dealership in Caloundra. Maybe he got an R1 rubber as they are the same cap.

^^^^ Hmm interesting, i've checked the microfische thing at bikebandit.com for a couple of models of R1's and they all seem to have the fuel cap as a complete unit. Its about 100 US which is probably half of the price over here but i wouldnt pay it just to replace a hardened seal just yet. Looks like i'll have to go into the stealership and see if they have any info, thanks mate

why dont you just get an old car innertube or the like and cut it up to make a new one??? that will be free.
